Technical Summary:
• A competent professional with an overall experience of around 5 years as an Oracle Database Administrator
• Experience with Oracle as a Database Administrator, giving remote database support, maintaining production databases, writing shell scripts database cloning, setting up RMAN backups
• Actively involved in installing oracle databases, applying patchsets / one-off patches. configuring database listeners, database tuning, query optimization, troubleshooting and supporting distributed applications and production and making strategy for databases backup and recovery
• Sound experience database cloning & migration, maintaining standby databases, shared servers, performance tuning using utilities like Statspack, Explain plan, and SQL trace
• Solid experience in loading data using tools like Export / Import, good knowledge on utilities like Tkprof, OEM, RMAN, and LogMiner etc.
• Used TNS naming, Local naming, Oracle names for resolving database connections
• A team player with strong communication, leadership, analytical, organizational and relationship management skills, with expertise in interfacing with international project teams for successful execution of projects.

Job Profile:
• Installing Oracle databases, client software, applying patch sets, one-off patches on Sun Solaris
• Proactively monitoring production databases
• Monitoring RAC, ASM, Data Guard instances
• Attending ad-hoc calls from the development team
• Database cloning, upgrading and reorganization of tablespaces
• Installing Oracle software and applying patches as per the requirement
• Copying data using Export / Import utilities
• Helping developers in installing database objects using version control software
• Configuring database listeners, tnsnames.ora
• Looking into Remedy tickets and solving them on time
• Refreshing the Test Databases for Development Teams
• Application performance tuning, query optimization, troubleshooting
• Maintaining database security. Creating roles and assigning privileges to the roles
• Database cloning, upgrading, and reorganization
• Writing shell scripts and schedule them to monitor databases in various aspects
• Setting up RMAN backups for tape devices and test them. Used Veritas’s bp backup to backup archives manually
• Maintaining Oracle9i Data Guard in managed recovery mode, recovering the same when the gap is more
• Configuring database listeners, adding databases to Oracle Names / TNS Names
• Installing Oracle software and applying patches
• Application performance tuning, query optimization, troubleshooting
